AEW Star Calls Out Tony Khan Over Booking

Lance Archer is yet to wrestle in 2023 and he is not happy about it.

The Murderhawk Monster’s most recent match came on December 23rd, 2022 when he appeared on the second day of NJPW’s Road To Tokyo Dome show. Incredibly, Archer hasn’t wrestled on AEW television since being defeated by Ricky Starks on the November 18th episode of Rampage.

Big things were expected for the star when he signed with AEW back in March 2020 after impressing at NJPW’s G1 Climax the previous year. Archer was managed by Jake Roberts and quickly set his sights on the TNT Championship, losing out to Cody Rhodes in the finals of the tournament to crown the inaugural champion. He went on to win the IWGP United States Championship from Jon Moxley in a Death Match on Dynamite a year later.

However, from there Archer has never really established himself with the company, despite challenging for the World Championship in February 2022.

In his near-three years with AEW, Archer has only wrestled on flagship show Dynamite 25 times, with just five of those matches coming in 2022.

In a new post on social media, Archer has decided to vent his frustration over his lack of recent in-ring action.

“51 days since I laced up my boots last! NOT by choice!”

Tony Khan Claims AEW And WWE Are “At War”

While Lance Archer might be frustrated with his lack of action, AEW boss Tony Khan seemingly has his eye on a much bigger picture. Speaking in a recent interview he claimed that AEW is at war with WWE while alleging that the sports entertainment giant has been trying to tamper with his star’s contracts. Khan labeled the allegations as “disturbing” while explaining that multiple members of staff have claimed WWE contacted them.

The AEW President added that despite these issues, the quality of AEW’s programming hasn’t suffered.
