AEW star expresses frustration in a bold social media post.
The September 13, 2025, episode of AEW Collision featured a match between Anthony Bowens and Konosuke Takeshita to determine the next challenger to the Unified Championship. Despite The Five-Tool Player’s best efforts, he failed short. The Alpha is now slated to challenge Kazuchika Okada at All Out.
Following his loss, Bowens was shown again backstage talking with Jerry Lynn, who asked if he had figured out what or who he was missing. Not long after, Anthony’s former partner, Max Caster, appeared and accidentally bumped into him.
This interaction caused the former AEW World Tag Team Champions to brawl before being separated by Jerry, who told them that they hadn’t been the most successful singles competitors.
Blake Christian and Lee Johnson would later interrupt their segment, and didn’t take long to attack Lynn. Bowens and Caster then helped the former ROH World Champion, sending The Swirl running. Jerry attempted to raise the hands of Anthony and Max, but they refused and went their separate ways.
Although it seems like a reunion of The Acclaimed was teased, another thing that got fans talking was how Anthony Bowens’ AEW singles run hasn’t been the best, especially with another loss on the latest episode of Collision. Interestingly, the All Elite star has an idea to turn things around for him.
Anthony Bowens On Why He Is Overlooked In AEW
On X (Twitter), a fan tweeted that Anthony Bowens was underrated and urged AEW to give him a chance. The All Elite star replied that he was “overlooked” by the company as he wasn’t given a chance to have longer matches.
I get overlooked bc I’ve never had an opportunity to go 20-30 minutes or more with someone in AEW. That is really when you start to earn your stripes. You can’t make a determination without giving people the chance to prove you wrong. I am ELITE & THE PRIDE OF PRO WRESTLING #AEWCollision”
