Brock Lesnar has been a dominant force in WWE for over 20 years, first debuting on the March 18th, 2002 episode of Raw. In a few short months he would go on to unseat The Rock as WWE Champion. He is the youngest man to have ever held that prestigious title, having won it at the age of only 25. He’s gone on to reign as WWE Champion a total of seven times, and he also has three championship reigns as WWE Universal Champion. He lost his most recent title to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 and failed to regain it at SummerSlam.
20 years after his debut, Brock Lesnar is back on Monday Night Raw after his surprise return to WWE last week that saw him brutalize Bobby Lashley with multiple F5’s before locking in the Kimura. Because his arm was so damaged, Lashley couldn’t properly apply the Hurt Lock to Seth Rollins during their match for the United States Championship and fell victim to multiple Stomps, allowing Rollins to pick up the victory and unseat Lashley as champion.
Matt Hardy Has High Praise For Brock Lesnar’s Athletic Ability
One man who wrestled Brock Lesnar early on in his career is Matt Hardy, who is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling. The two last faced off on an episode of SmackDown in 2003 in a match that saw Hardy defeated by The Next Big Thing.
Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the AEW star reflected on his own 30 years in the wrestling business before praising Brock Lesnar as the most physically gifted athlete he’s ever wrestled.
“Brock is probably the most amazing athlete I’ve ever been in the ring with. Just like, I’ve never seen someone who is so like, so fast, so explosive, and so strong. Of all the people I’ve faced, Brock feels like the most real and dangerous athlete I’ve ever competed with of all people.”
Brock Lesnar’s current feud with Bobby Lashley sees him against someone who gives The Beast a run for his money when it comes to physical gifts. This is the first time Lesnar has feuded with anyone in WWE without a title involved since his feud with Randy Orton in 2016.
