Baron Black, an AEW enhancement talent often found on the company’s YouTube programming, has finally achieved his inaugural victory in the company.
The Atlanta, Georgia native had been on a 50-match losing streak leading up to his latest clash on Dark: Elevation, where he wrestled Brandon Cutler.
What made the win so poignant for Baron is that his first win came in Duluth, a 28-mile journey across Georgia from Atlanta, where he’s originally from. The state also marked Black’s debut for the organisation in Norcross (approximately 20 miles from Atlanta), when he wrestled Shawn Spears on an April 2020 broadcast of Dynamite.

Baron Black has wrestled consistently for the Tony Khan-helmed promotion as since making his debut, with all of his subsequent matches going down on Dark and Dark: Elevation. Losses have come against near enough every name imaginable, from Matt Sydal and Jurassic Express to Lance Archer and Wardlow.
Prior to his victory, Baron’s last match aired on Dark’s 12 July episode (taped 11 June), as he lost to former IMPACT Wrestling star Rohit Raju. Now with a win in his back pocket, the 13-year veteran simply tweeted, “Perseverance“.
Black is also a promoter, co-promoting the TERMINUS brand with former ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham. Four events have thus far been promoted under the company, with Baron being 1-3 in the company; he last lost to Jay Lethal.
