A top AEW star got into an intense match, leading to a bloody mess on AEW Dynamite.
AEW Dynamite made history on August 20, 2025, when Brody King and his partner Bandido fought FTR to a time limit draw in Glasgow, Scotland. This marked one of the rarest outcomes in modern wrestling, as draws are extremely uncommon in AEW programming, especially in tag team competition.
The match served as the finals of the World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament. Both Brody King and Bandido, competing as the team “Brodido,” battled against the veteran duo of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler from FTR. The physical contest pushed both teams to their limits over the full period. During the bout, Brody King was busted open quite badly as he was left with a crimson mask. His face was entirely red, but that did not prevent him from continuing to fight.

What made this match truly historic was not just the rare draw finish but the intensity that both teams brought to the ring. King showed why he’s considered one of AEW’s most physical competitors as the match featured hard-hitting action typical of both teams’ wrestling styles.

The draw result meant both teams would advance to face The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at Forbidden Door in London. This unusual booking decision created a three-way scenario for the upcoming PLE. The management felt both teams earned their shot after the grueling battle that went the full distance without a clear winner.
Historic AEW Draw Changes Forbidden Door Plans
The time limit draw between FTR and Brodido Lee completely changed AEW’s plans for Forbidden Door. Instead of having one clear challenger for The Hurt Syndicate’s tag team titles, both teams now get their shot at championship gold in London.

FTR, the former three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions, entered the match as favorites given their extensive experience. Harwood and Wheeler have been one of wrestling’s top tag teams for years and were expected to advance to face Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin’s Hurt Syndicate.
However, Brody King and Bandido proved they belonged in the title picture with their performance. King’s partnership with ROH World Champion Bandido has shown steady improvement throughout the tournament. Their teamwork was tested against various opponents before reaching the finals.
