A former AEW Women’s Champion has high praise for Toni Storm.
Storm has arguably done the best work of her career since becoming “Timeless.” Entertaining many with her character inspired by a classic Hollywood actress, the Women’s Champion quickly became the standout star in the division that has been often criticised for being overlooked since the company was founded back in 2019.
On top of her promo and character work, Storm was a part of one of the most popular rivalries in the past year with Mariah May, which culminated in the critically acclaimed Hollywood Ending match at Revolution.
Having previously worked with Storm while a part of The Outcasts, Saraya has looked back on Storm’s transformation from timid to Timeless.
Speaking with Rick Ucchino of The Takedown on SI, the former Women’s Champion spoke about Storm being previously scared to pick up a microphone to now being in her opinion one of the best characters of all time:
“I just remember when we we’re in a group, me and Ruby [Soho] were helping [Toni] with promos. She would just have one line and be terrified to do this line. She’d be going over it and over it and over it, while me and Ruby had all these lines.”
“She’s one of the best promos and characters, I think, of all time. And she’s one of my favorites all together right now. She is making wrestling fun and exciting and I love that. And it’s just funny seeing her from two years ago… when she was scared to pick up a microphone.”
“Once you have a character and something that you’re enjoying in wrestling, you wanna put a hundred percent of your mind, body, and soul into it. And she’s doing it. And she’s so humble about it and I love that for her. She’s just like, ‘I hope I’m doing a good job.’ I’m like, ‘Babe, you are smashing it! You are the best thing in wrestling right now.’”

As Storm retained the Women’s Championship over May at Revolution and their rivalry has come to an end, the champ is in need of a new challenger. Following the events that took place on Dynamite, Toni Storm’s opponent has been revealed.
