AEW’s Mercedes Mone Urges WWE Star Bayley To Challenge Her For Any Title
On Instagram, Bayley and Mercedes Mone went live to celebrate their barnburner at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in August 2015. It is this rivalry that earned Mone the “Woman of the Year” award from Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI), as the two wrestled again at NXT TakeOver: Respect in October of that year. This bout, a 30-minute Ironwoman showdown, was awarded PWI’s “Match of the Year.”
The Role Model and The CEO later feuded on WWE’s main roster, and even teamed up as the “Boss ‘n Hug Connection,” becoming the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
They discussed having another match on Instagram live, with both acknowledging their love and admiration for one another. However, the AEW star currently has eight titles, including the AEW TBS Championship, the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship, the CMLL World Women’s Championship, the EWA Women’s Championship, the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Championship, the Queen of Southside Championship, and two newly won Polish titles.
Mercedes Mone urged The Role Model to challenge her for one of them when Bayley said she just wants one.
Mercedes Mone: “I’m going for title number nine tonight.”
Bayley: “I just want one.”
Mone: “You just want one?”
Bayley: “I just want one, dude.”
Mone: “Come face me then, dude. Give the people what they want, one more match.”
Mone: “So, what do you think about one more match?”
Bayley: “It depends what title is on the line. We’ll see.”
Mone: “I have a lot.”
Bayley: “How long would it be in? Ten years or five years or three years or one year?”
Mone: “Ten years seems a little too long, I can’t imagine not wrestling you for ten years.”
Bayley: “Mama’s getting old.”
Mone: “If I wrestled you when you were 50, I think I’d love that. It wouldn’t even be a match, it’d just be a haha.”

Meanwhile, The Role Model most recently was gunning for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, currently held by Becky Lynch. The Man recently revealed that her rival is the clear fan-favorite between the two of them.
