AEW Star “Almost Started Crying” During Double Or Nothing

Sammy Guevara has admitted that he struggled to keep it together during his World Title match at Double or Nothing.

While the “Four Pillars” match for the AEW World Championship was a big enough occasion on its own, Guevara and his wife Tay Melo also had some huge news for the world. During Guevara’s entrance, the pair revealed that they are expecting their first child.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, the Spanish God described the moment as “surreal,” admitting that he almost started crying.

“I had to snap out of it. I almost started crying. It was just very surreal. Us four young guys, wrestling for the world title and then right before that, going out there and announcing we’re having a baby.”

The news was greeted by a huge cheer from those in attendance, despite the couple not always being the most popular people in the company. Guevara said that it was overwhelming to get that kind of reaction, admitting the couple hasn’t always been beloved by fans.

“The crowd’s coming back around on me,” Guevara said. “We were not always the most loved people out there. For them to give us that big reaction. Everyone’s happy, showing us the love. It was just like, overwhelming in a way where I was like, ok, we gotta get back into it.”
