AEW star Penta El Zero Miedo has spoken out regarding the many rumours that have circulated regarding the departure of himself and Rey Fenix.
Throughout the summer, various outlets have reported that The Lucha Bros will not be re-signing with All Elite Wrestling when their contracts expire along with follow-up reports that the former Tag Team Champions look set to join WWE soon.
Publicly addressing the reports for the first time, Penta responded to a report on social media that he is expected to be in Orlando within the next few days and stated that the report is false:
Please stop posting fake news !! My present is AEW !!
Further commenting publicly in a seperate post, Peta once again stated that he wants the gossip to stop:
no more gossip! my present is aew!
What’s Next For AEW Stars The Lucha Bros?
Shortly after Penta posted the updates stating that he is with AEW for now, a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select provided additional details regarding what has been described as a “tumultuous” journey for The Lucha Bros as they appear to be set to depart in the future.
The report states that while Penta has pushed back on reports regarding a Florida visit, numerous sources have claimed that he is expected to be in Orlando but did not specify if it would be in relation to a WWE Performance Center Visit.
In regards to what the reaction has been from AEW, multiple sources within the company suspected that talks may have happened but were “shocked” to see it printed. Additionally, The Lucha Bros were offered a new contract that was said to be the same as what Penta told them WWE was offering.
Fightful also notes that injury time could be added onto both contracts of the former Tag Team Champions and that Penta has been pushing back on the reports so that Rey Fenix will be able to leave the promotion “without contractual hurdles.” Fightful also states in the report that “various details are claims from the talent directly” and have not been confirmed due to contractual nature.
Rey Fenix was recently pulled from an independent show back in September.
