AEW Star Addresses Controversial Jack Perry Chair Shot

Jack Perry at AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts

A member of The Elite has provided an update on Jack Perry since his unprotected chair shot at Blood & Guts.

The violent moment from AEW Dynamite on Wednesday sparked controversy, with many people from across the wrestling world questioning the decision and worrying for Perry’s health and safety. In response to these concerns, The Young Bucks’ Nick Jackson has provided an update on his Elite teammate.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Jackson reassured Justin Barrasco that Jack Perry was “fine” and the stunt was performed safely:

“All I know is Jack is fine, and that’s all that matters, we know the risk we’re taking in the ring and it wouldn’t have happened if he wasn’t prepared for it.”

The Blood & Guts Match on Dynamite — taking place in Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee — saw Team AEW (Swerve Strickland, Darby Allin, Mark Briscoe, and The Acclaimed) defeat The Elite (The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, Kazuchika Okada and Hangman Page). The unprotected chair shot was performed by Briscoe and occurred while Jack Perry had both hands cuffed to the cage wall.

The match lived up to its name, with many weapons used and multiple wrestlers driven through tables. The finish came when Perry was doused with gasoline by Darby Allin, forcing Jackson’s brother and tag team partner Matt Jackson to quit for his teammate’s sake.
