‘AEW Shockwave’ Seemingly Leaked In Recent Trademark Application

AEW Star Cleared To Return Following 18 Month Absence

AEW Shockwave’ could be on the horizon, but what exactly is this newly filed AEW trademark?

On Friday, September 6th, All Elite Wrestling filed a trademark for the phrase ‘AEW Shockwave’ with the United States Trademark and Patent Office.

While details are limited to the pending trademark application at this time, the purpose of the filing suggests that the phrase will be used for an upcoming AEW event or television program as it features similar goods and services purposes to the trademarks for AEW Dynamite, AEW Dynasty and other AEW TV programs and events.

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling.

However, it’s key to note that this filing does not guarantee that the company will be using the term. Over two years ago, AEW filed for the term ‘Blood Moon Rising’ under a similar purpose and while the trademark remains live at the time of writing, the phrase has never been used for an AEW TV show or event.

Another Recent AEW Trademark Hinted At Return Of Scrapped Match

AEW Shockwave isn’t the only recent trademark from the company that may be giving an insight into their future plans. A month ago, AEW filed to trademark ‘Meat Mayhem’ – which some fans linked to the previously-scrapped Meat Madness match planned for AEW Revolution earlier this year.

Recently it was reported that there could be a change to AEW’s PPV schedule due to the new deal with WBD.
