AEW Accused Of Ruining Top Heel: “Looks Like An Eventual NXT Superstar”

AEW Dynamite Live Results - September 3, 2025:

A wrestling veteran claimed a top heel is not being utilized by AEW to their full potential and could eventually move to WWE NXT.

The top heel in question is none other than Kyle Fletcher of The Don Callis Family. Since the disbandment of the Aussie Open (his tag team with Mark Davis), Fletcher has grown into one of the bright young talents in AEW. The Protostar is the current TNT Champion after beating Dustin Rhodes on the July 31 episode of Collision in a Chicago Street Fight. He successfully retained the belt at Forbidden Door against Hiromu Takahashi.

On the most recent episode of The Stevie Richards Show, Stevie Richards thought Fletcher would be an NXT Superstar someday. However, the 53-year-old revealed that The Protostar has a long way to go and that AEW’s tendency to have a wrestler go over just because they did more will cost Fletcher.

He needs seasoning. He needs somebody to teach him how to work. He needs to up his game. He needs to know psychology of when and when no to do stuff and unfortunately in AEW, I don’t see anybody that’s listened to, that could do that. This used to be the Arn Anderson’s, Dean Malenko’s, you still have a Jerry Lynn there. You have people there that can coach you but then the culture of AEW is, the more you do, the more over you’ll get, but that’s not true. That’s why I say eventually, he may move laterally or eventually down and then sign with NXT and be in WWE,” Richards stated.

Kyle Fletcher Issues A Challenge to AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page

Last Saturday on Collision, Kyle Fletcher made it clear he wants a shot at “Hangman” Adam Page’s AEW World Championship so that he could solidify his claim of being the greatest TNT Champion by holding the belts simultaneously.

The Protostar then issued a challenge to Hangman for a world championship match at All Out.

It will be interesting to see if Page will accept Fletcher’s bold proposition by having his world championship defended in Toronto, Canada.
