Ahead of Grand Slam Australia, a brand-new AEW/ROH joint special has been announced for Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Dubbed AEW ROH Global Wars Australia, the event promises high-stakes matchups featuring some of the biggest stars from both promotions.
Several key title bouts have already been confirmed for the event:
- ROH Women’s Championship: Athena (c) vs. Alex Windsor
- ROH Pure Wrestling Championship: Lee Moriarty (c) vs. Robbie Eagles
- ROH World Tag Team Championship: Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara (c) vs. MxM Collection
While the broadcast details for Global Wars Australia have yet to be confirmed, speculation suggests that the event will likely stream on ROH’s HonorClub service.
This announcement comes as AEW prepares for its first-ever event in Australia, with Grand Slam Australia set to take place at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Unlike previous Grand Slam events, it was recently confirmed that the show will be a TV special rather than a pay-per-view. Tony Khan clarified that this was always the plan, emphasising the business strategy behind the decision.
The February 12 episode of Dynamite also revealed a major championship match for the event, with Mercedes Moné set to defend the TBS Championship against Harley Cameron. Additionally, it was reported that Grand Slam Australia will air at 10:30 PM Eastern Time as a two-hour Collision special.
