AEW Revolution Confirmed For Sunday March 7th

AEW Revolution will take place on Sunday 7th of March 2021 at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville. The first time in company history that AEW has held a pay-per-view event on a Sunday night.

Recent reports suggested that the event was originally scheduled to take place on the 27th of February. This would have been consistent with the company’s traditional pay-per-view night of Saturday. The change may have come about due to the highly anticipated boxing event where Canelo Alvarez will fight Avni Yildirim. This fight will take place on the 27th of February and would have clashed with Revolution.

The only match definitely on the card for Revolution will see WWE Hall of Famer Sting make his return to action. The former WCW World Champion will team with current TNT Champion, Darby Allin. The duo will face Team Taz’s Brian Cage and Ricky Starks in a street fight. This will be Sting’s first match of any kind since he was injured in a match with Seth Rollins in WWE in 2015.

The AEW Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks will be defending their titles at Revolution. The brothers will face the winners of a number one contender’s battle royal due to take place at Beach Break.

Interestingly, Shaquille O’Neal sent a message to Cody Rhodes during his appearance on AEW Dynamite where he mentioned March. ‘Shaq’ was presenting an award during the AEW Awards on Dynamite where he challenged Rhodes to see him in March. The two have been embroiled in a spat that started when Jade Cargill, purportedly representing the NBA legend, confronted Rhodes in her AEW debut.
