The men’s and women’s brackets for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament were confirmed on the June 21st edition of AEW Dynamite.
The tournament will take place over several weeks on all AEW shows including the upcoming PPV Forbidden Door.
CM Punk In Action At AEW Forbidden Door In The First Round Of The Owen Hart Tournament
The men’s tournament brackets features several huge matches such as the previously reported first-time-ever meeting of CM Punk and Satoshi Kojima at Forbidden Door.
It was long rumoured that Punk could be facing KENTA at the PPV, however, this latest announcement has the former two-time AEW World Champion take on the former two-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
The other matches announced will see last year’s tournament finalist Samoa Joe go against Roderick Stong. Dustin Rhodes takes on Powerhouse Hobbs and Juice Robinson vs Ricky Starks are all scheduled for the June 29th episode of Collision.
On the women’s side, the first-round matches kick off with ROH Women’s Champion Athena vs Billie Starks, which goes down at Forbidden Door. The other outings have Anna Jay taking on Sky Blue, which happens on June 23rd Rampage. Nyla Rose goes up against NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Willow Nightengale on June 24th Collision and last year’s winner Britt Baker faces Ruby Soho on the June 28th episode of Dynamite.

This is the second year the tournament has taken place after the promotion introduced the Owen Hart Cup in honour of the legendary wrestler in 2021. The first finals took place at Double or Nothing on May 29th, 2022 and were won by Adam Cole and Britt Baker.
Hart is also a playable character in the upcoming video game Fight Forever, which is available on June 29th.
