AEW Reportedly Set To Land Another Former WWE Star

AEW Dynamite Roster

AEW is reportedly adding even more talent to their roster with a former WWE star expected to join the company in the coming weeks.

Fightful Select has reported that Ruby Soho, who competed in WWE as Ruby Riott could be headed to AEW according to “talent and industry insiders.”

Soho was released from her WWE contract on the 2nd of June alongside Lana, Santana Garrett, Buddy Murphy, Braun Strowman, and the now-Malakai Black. If as is expected she is currently waiting out a standard ninety-day non-compete clause this means Soho will be free and clear to take bookings with other companies shortly before AEW presents All Out on the 5th of September. That show will feature a women’s Casino Battle Royale match with the winner receiving an AEW Women’s Championship match at some point in the future. AEW’s previous Casino Battle Royales have featured a surprise ‘Joker’ as the 21st and final entrant.

The report notes that Ruby Soho – who was granted permission to use her new moniker by Rancid singer Lars Frederiksen, whose band has a song of the same name – has been very low profile since her WWE release. With a promoter of an unnamed organisation saying that they’d been told as far back as a month ago that Soho wasn’t taking any bookings.

The news is so far unconfirmed with All Elite Wrestling with many rumours swirling around other talents the company is reportedly looking at bringing into the company.

Ruby Soho recently unveiled a stunning new look on social media. As far as her future goes, Soho’s social media bio still simply reads, “destination unknown.”

Soho signed with WWE in late 2016, making her NXT debut the following January. After competing as a singles star Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan debuted as The Riott Squad in November 2017 attacking Becky Lynch and Naomi. The trio remained together until the Superstar Shakeup in 2019 with Logan, real name Sarah Rowe, leaving the company a year later. Riott and Morgan later reunited.
