The ratings for the October 15th editions of AEW Rampage and WWE SmackDown have been revealed.
On October 15th AEW went head-to-head with a main roster WWE show for the first time ever.
The most recent episode of SmackDown ran for two and a half hours with the last 30 minutes airing commercial free. This meant that the final half an hour of the show overlapped with the opening half hour of AEW Rampage. The show also featured a Buy In for the first time ever. The hour long show on YouTube featured the dream match between Minoru Suzuki and Bryan Danielson.
As reported by ShowBuzzDaily, SmackDown which was shown on FS1 instead of it’s usual home on FOX, drew 866,000 viewers. The previous week the blue brand pulled in 2.034 million viewers.
SmackDown pulled in 314,000 viewers in the 18-49 year-old demographic, this equates to a rating of 0.24.
Interestingly, that is a rating that was equalled by AEW Rampage. The show pulled in 313,000 viewers in the much coveted demographic. In the total, Rampage drew a viewership of 578,000. An increase of 76,000 viewers on the previous week.
It has also been reported by PWTorch that AEW Ramage beat SmackDown in the in the 18-49 year-old demographic for the 30 minutes when the two shows were directly head-to-head.
AEW Rampage pulled in 328,000 viewers, compared to the 285,000 drawn by SmackDown.
The opening 30 minutes of Rampage featured the clash between CM Punk and Matt Sydal, while SmackDown closed with the final stages of the match between Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks, and the huge contract signing between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.
