With Revolution just around the corner, AEW rolled into Phoenix, Arizona for the February 22nd episode of Dynamite, and tapings for Rampage and Dark: Elevation.
The show opened with Orange Cassidy successfully defending his All-Atlantic Championship against Wheeler Yuta. There were also wins for Jon Moxley — His 100th in AEW as he became the first star to hit that landmark — Saraya, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal, and The Acclaimed.
One of the biggest questions heading into the show surrounded Tony Khan’s “important announcement.” As it turned out Khan wasn’t really all that involved and there were actually two pieces of news. In a backstage segment, Khan handed the floor to Adam Cole who revealed that he will be back in the ring in March while confirming that a new reality series titled AEW All Access is on the way.
As the feud between MJF and Bryan Danielson continues the AEW World Champion cut an incredibly emotional promo where he lifted the lid on his real-life struggles. MJF stated that his “dream girl” had left him, meaning all that remained was the AEW World Title. After the show, it was confirmed that MJF’s comments about the end of the relationship with fiancĂ©e Naomi Rosenblum were true.
