Amazon Prime Video will reportedly begin hosting AEW programming later this year.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reports that the streaming service will likely become a digital carrier of AEW’s pay-per-views in the US, Canada and the UK. It’s currently unknown when the move will take place beyond some point in 2025 and if it will be available in time for Revolution this March.
The report adds that the pay-per-views will be available to purchase and rent, similar to movies on the streaming service, rather than only being available to Amazon Prime members. Triller, YouTube and PPV.com currently serve as digital carriers for AEW’s pay-per-view events in the US, Canada and some international markets.
These events also air via traditional cable and satellite providers throughout North America as well as in select Dave & Buster locations in the US.
AEW PPVs Are Coming To Another Streaming Service In 2025
Amazon Prime Video won’t be the only major streaming service to begin carrying AEW pay-per-views in 2025. As part of the company’s new media rights deal with Warner Brothers Discovery, AEW’s pay-per-view events are coming to Max towards the end of this year.
While these events will not be included as part of a Max subscription, subscribers will be able to stream them at a discounted price versus other carriers. The exact pricing of pay-per-views on the platform has yet to be confirmed.
Max currently hosts simulcasts of Dynamite and Collision alongside their broadcasts on TBS and TNT respectively. In terms of on-demand content, the streaming service hosts all 2019 episodes of Dynamite and the company’s pay-per-views as well as the last few months of Dynamite, Rampage and Collision.
In recent news, it has been reported that AEW is planning to keep its pay-per-view schedule “top secret” to avoid WWE counter-measures.
