One AEW original’s contract is up, but he’s not necessarily done with the company just yet.
Dustin Rhodes has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since its first-ever Double or Nothing in May of 2019, and in recent months, he’s found success in Tony Khan‘s Ring of Honor as both an ROH World Tag Team Champion and an ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion.
In September, it was reported that Rhodes’ contract was due to expire soon, and Fightful Select now reports that the star is officially a free agent despite still holding two of ROH’s titles.
However, the report from Fightful Select also notes that while nothing has been finalized as of yet, negotiations between Rhodes and All Elite Wrestling are ongoing, The report also points out that Rhodes has wrestled more matches in 2024 than any year since 2020, and he’s on track to have his busiest year of competition since being in WWE in 2018.
According to the report, Rhodes has also been instrumental in helping with the AEW women’s division backstage.
When Did Dustin Rhodes Last Wrestle In AEW?

Rhodes has wrestled one more time since then, teaming with The Von Erichs on September 25th to defend the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Title against The Premiere Athletes (Tony Nese, Mark Sterling, and Ariya Daivari) on ROH TV.
Back in July, Dustin Rhodes made it clear that he had no plans to retire when his AEW contract expired.
