AEW Original Exits The Company

AEW Original Departs The Promotion

An AEW star who was with the company since the first episode of Dynamite back in October 2019 is now a free agent.

The debut episode of All Elite Wrestling’s flagship show saw Chris Jericho form The Inner Circle with Santana and Ortiz, Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager. According to a new report, one member of the faction is no longer under contract with the company.

As reported by Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, Hager is the latest name to exit the promotion as he did not sign a new contract, making him a free agent. Sources have also told Haynes that the decision was a mutual one.

Following on from his debut on Dynamite, Hager would make his in-ring debut for the company at Revolution 2020 which saw the former World Champion defeat Dustin Rhodes. Hager would go on to challenge Jon Moxley for the World Championship later in the year but was unsuccessful. Hager would remain a close ally of Jericho’s in both The Inner Circle and The Jericho Appreciation Society following on from the original faction imploding.

Used on TV less following the JAS breaking up, Hager’s final match saw him lose to Roderick Strong on an episode of Rampage in February 2024.

Multiple Wrestlers Depart AEW In A Matter Of Days

The news of Hager’s departure was reported the same week that 2 other contracted wrestlers also announced their exits from the promotion. Beginning with Mark Henry addressing his status with the company, Arn Anderson also confirmed his AEW future. Earlier in the month, Ethan Page also exited the company and has since re-signed with a major promotion.

In recent news, the AEW Collision spoilers have been revealed for June 1st.

In a new interview, Jake Hager praised the work Chris Jericho is doing in the promotion.

In November, the former AEW star confirmed when their contract expired.
