The title of AEW Original is one that several pro wrestlers will wear for the rest of their careers. Tony Khan launched his promotion in 2019 with a roster of hungry rookies, rising stars, and experienced veterans. While some of the AEW Originals are still standing, many have gone on to other companies or non-wrestling opportunities, including one fan-favorite that is now back in the ring.
The Bunny was also known as Allie during her All Elite tenure. The Canadian grappler joined AEW in its first year after runs in TNA, CZW, Shine, and Shimmer, and was aligned with her husband, The Blade, and his tag team partner, The Butcher. Allie suffered a broken orbital bone on February 8, 2023, while losing a 6-minute Eliminator match to then-Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter on the Championship Fight Night edition of Dynamite.
Allie returned in August 2023 for a championship qualifier loss to Britt Baker at Fight for The Fallen, then three weeks later she teamed with Anna Jay and Taya Valkyrie for a Rampage loss to Baker, Skye Blue, and Hikaru Shida. The two-time TNA Knockouts World Champion has not wrestled since then, and her AEW exit was confirmed in early November 2023, the same week Allie’s adult content website launched.
The former Dark Allie looked back on her time with AEW and TNA fondly in November 2024 at a fan signing. The same week, Allie’s husband, issued a significant update on his health after going on the shelf in February 2024. The former NWA National Heavyweight Champion has not wrestled a full match since then.
AEW Original The Bunny Back In The Ring
The Bunny began focusing on her acting and figure skating careers after leaving AEW. The 38-year-old has made a few signing appearances following her AEW departure, but has stayed away from the ring for the most part, despite a surprise TNA appearance in May.
The former Cherry Bomb took to Instagram this week to announce that she’s returned to the ring for training. In the video below, the Toronto native walked fans through her skincare routine in a new “Get Ready With Me” segment while discussing where she stands in the industry. Allie recalled how she recently missed the sport, and didn’t realize what she got from wrestling until she hit rock bottom in this past year, which was rough.
The Bunny’s aforementioned TNA appearance led to the rekindling of her love for the sport. Allie detailed how training did hurt a lot, but the return to grappling actually felt good. She ended the video by expressing excitement over an in-ring comeback.
“She’s back in the ring [black heart emoji] I didn’t realize how much I missed wrestling until I started training again. Get ready with me while I talk about where I’m at with wrestling [smiling face with hearts emoji] Lmk if you’d like to see more GRWM, vlogs, story times, etc! #GRWM #wrestling #prowrestling #tna #tnawrestling #dayinthelife #storytime #fitnesslife #makeupbase #makeuptutorial,” Allie wrote.
In addition to The Bunny’s two reigns as TNA Knockouts World Champion, she held the WSU Championship on one occasion, along with the GCW WILD Championship, and the PWX Women’s Championship. The two-time CCW Women’s Champion also held tag team gold in Shimmer and Shine with Kimber Lee.
