AEW Apparently Not Interested In Released WWE Star

WWE Preparing For Arrival Of AEW Star

AEW possibly has no interest in a former WWE Superstar.

Former superstar Tegan Nox was released from WWE a second time in November 2024 after performing in the Stamford-based promotion since 2017. She wrestled at different independent promotions as Nixon Newell since then, but is interested in joining AEW at some point.

On Wrestling in the Middle, Nixon Newell was asked if she was interested in signing with AEW or if the company had reached out to her. The former Tegan Nox stated that she is interested in joining due to the amount of talent she wants to work it, naming Toni Storm as an example.

[Have you had any interest there have they had any interest?] “Not that I know of. I would love to go there. There’s so many people there that I want to wrestle. Like, I really want to tangle up with Toni (Storm) again. I wrestled Toni for many years on the indies so I’d like to revisit that. There’s just a lot of women here that I would love to wrestle, so I am more than willing AEW to talk about some stuff so I’m interested. I’d love to go there, but as far as I know I don’t think there’s an interest from them, which is a shame but I would love to go there.”

Nixon Newell Wasn’t Shocked She Was Released By WWE

In the same appearance, the former Tegan Nox opened up regarding her WWE release. The former Lady Kane shared that she wasn’t that shocked it happened since she wasn’t booked that much already.

Although being in the Stamford-based promotion was her dream job since she was a kid, the release gave her a chance to wrestle and have fun again. Nixon Newell added that although she was disappointed about getting released, she was still happy that she could finally enjoy the sport again.
