One of AEW Full Gear‘s highly anticipated matches was put in danger due to an injury suffered earlier in the day.

AJ Befumo and his 11-year-old son Eric are better known to fans worldwide as Big Boom AJ and Big Justice. Gaining viral fame on TikTok as The Costco Guys, the duo has over 2 million followers,

AJ is also a former professional wrestler, and ahead of Full Gear, he accepted QT Marshall’s challenge to face him on Zero Hour. The Costco Guy handed Marshall a defeat on the show, much to the delight of the audience and fans around the world.

Shortly after Full Gear, AEW announced that Big Boom AJ had suffered a broken foot. However, a new report from Fightful Select reveals that the injury actually took place earlier in the day, and that AJ insisted on being able to compete as he didn’t want to disappoint fans who’d bought a ticket to the show.

Tony Khan Full Of Praise For The Costco Guys Ahead Of AEW Full Gear

Speaking at a media call ahead of AEW Full Gear, AEW President Tony Khan heaped praise on Big Boom AJ and Big Justice, saying he’s taken a lot of marketing inspiration from the pair. He said:

“It’s been tremendous. It’s been absolutely tremendous. It’s been something I’ve enjoyed. I’ve learned a lot about marketing and entrepreneurship from AJ and Justice, they are tremendous. I really enjoy talking to them.

Tomorrow, I’m going to be on Fox Business Network talking about this collaboration with Big Boom AJ. They’ve built a great brand and they are a nice family.
