It has come to light that All Elite Wrestling filed a massive trademark for ‘AEW Games’ on October 23.

While speculation was rife about whether the filing was for a new pay-per-view or match type, it appears that the trademark will serve as the company’s new video game franchise which is sure to thrill all gaming and AEW enthusiasts.

This was confirmed by the filing description which explicitly noted ‘video game discs, downloadable game software and downloadable video game programs’ among other things.

The official filing for ‘AEW Games’ read:

“International Class 09: Video game discs; Downloadable game software; Downloadable video game programs; Downloadable computer game software; Downloadable electronic game software; Downloadable interactive game software; Downloadable video game software; Recorded video game programs; Recorded video game software

International Class 041: Providing a website featuring entertainment information in the field(s) of gaming and wrestling; Entertainment services, namely, providing online video games; Entertainment services, namely, providing temporary use of non-downloadable video games; Production of video and computer game software; Providing a website featuring non-downloadable game software; Providing online non-downloadable game software; Provision of information relating to electronic computer games provided via the Internet.”

This news comes after the promotion also filed for the trademarks of ‘All Elite Wrestling: Elite General Manager’ and ‘Elite GM’ which are thought to be new modes in the upcoming console release akin to the insanely popular GM Mode of WWE video games past.

While there is little known about the current AEW game apart from the fact that is in development according to Kenny Omega, fans have clamoured to try and get an updated version of the famous WWF No Mercy engine for the N64 applied to the release in order to make it stand out against the efforts of WWE publisher, 2K.
