AEW Facing Major Issues At All In, Certain Wrestlers Reportedly Could Be Impacted

AEW will invade Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday for its third annual All In pay-per-view. The afternoon event has a start time of 12 pm local time or 1 pm ET, beginning with the two-hour Zero Hour pre-show. The chatter on a potential disaster is picking up as we get closer to showtime, and Tony Khan isn’t the only one addressing the issue.

Globe Life Field is the home of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers. The capacity is 40,300, but they drew 43,598 for a 2022 Morgan Wallen concert. Globe Life Field has a retractable roof, which the Rangers insisted on when the new venue was built due to the area being prone to regular rainfall and high temperatures, which hurt attendance.

Tony Khan appeared on the Maggie & Perloff Show yesterday to discuss All In. The AEW President thanked local officials and said the event has been a huge success already. Perloff brought up the weather for this weekend.

“So, Tony… I looked at my weather app, it’s not going to be so so super hot, but it’s definitely going to be warm. Not only for the fans, but the performers are going to be sweating a lot here,” Perloff said.

Khan quickly responded. Amid ongoing All In-related conflict with WWE, the AEW-ROH owner defended his company.

“There’s a roof! [Perloff: Oh, Maggie, you didn’t tell me there’s a roof] [Maggie: do I have to tell you that?] You’re a sports show, you guys are sports reporters. [laughs] You know there’s a roof on Globe Life Field, it’s a famous stadium,” Khan said.

AEW All In Current Forecast; Potential In-Ring Issues

The current forecast for AEW All In Saturday in Arlington, Texas, calls for abundant sunshine, with a high of 91°F and a low of 74°F at night. The Weather Channel is also calling for 10-15mph winds going south during the afternoon, and winds moving south-southeast at 10-15mph later at night.

The conditions are expected to be mostly clear during the evening, with a few rain showers developing later in the night. There is just an 8% chance of rain during the afternoon, but that goes to 31% at night. The humidity level is expected to be at 66-76% throughout the day and night, with a UV Index rating of Extreme during the day, and 0-of-11 at night. Sunset is listed for 8:38 pm, and moonrise at 10:19 pm, which will be when the AEW All In After Party is happening on the same complex.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the weather is an actual issue that no one is really talking about with All In just days away. He recalled once living near Arlington and how hot it gets in the summer, noting that high-flyers of the company will likely have issues with their springboards and similar moves.

“It is hot as hell [in Texas in July]. You’ll have a lot of matches with a lot of sweat and moisture, and [this may affect] guys that do springboard stuff, and you can look up and down the card, [there’s] a lot of springboard guys. I hope there’s no problems there, and guys don’t slip off the ropes, especially on the biggest AEW show of the year,” Meltzer said.

All In: Texas will be the first pro wrestling event to be held at Globe Life Field. This will also be AEW’s first event at a MLB stadium, its first PPV in The Lone Star State, its first afternoon PPV, first July PPV, the first All In to stream on Amazon Prime, and AEW’s first All In not held in London.
