AEW Engages In Internal Talks Over Potential Signing Of WWE Superstar Ricochet

It has been reported that AEW is deliberating the potential signing of soon-to-be former WWE Superstar Ricochet.

Dave Meltzer, in a recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, provided insights into the ongoing speculations surrounding Ricochet’s future, shedding light on the discussions within both wrestling promotions regarding his impending decision.

Meltzer’s report outlined the evolving narrative, stating:

The belief the night before was strong that he would be leaving and it was talked about in both WWE and AEW. Then on the afternoon of 6/9, we were outright told he had made his decision although wouldn’t confirm what that decision was. The next day we were told that the Raw, where they had an angle scheduled where Bron Breaker would destroy him, would most likely be his last WWE appearance.

While their interest in Ricochet remains unconfirmed, Meltzer’s observations and industry speculation strongly point towards a potential move to the Jacksonville-based promotion. Meltzer highlighted:

That by itself wouldn’t confirm AEW, and nothing has confirmed AEW, past common sense given all that would indicate it would almost have to be AEW.

If Ricochet were to decide to head to another wrestling promotion there would presumably be a non-compete clause in his WWE contract preventing him from signing with the company until that time specified in his contract had elapsed.

What Did Tony Khan Say About The Possibility Of Ricochet Heading To AEW?

Tony Khan refused to comment on Ricochet’s future in wrestling as he did not wish to discuss wrestlers who are still employed by other promotions.

In a new update, Ricochet has been removed from the active roster.
