The ratings for this Wednesday’s editions of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT are in, and AEW has picked up another victory in the “Wednesday Night War” as both shows post a decrease in viewership with strong competition from Game 2 of the World Series in Major League Baseball.
According to Showbuzzdaily, the ratings for AEW Dynamite came in at an average of 753,000 live viewers, with NXT behind on a 644,000 average.
Dynamite posted a decrease on the 826,000 it drew last week, while NXT saw a decrease on the 651,000 the show pulled.
Dynamite had an average rating of 0.39 in the key 18-49 demographic, whereas NXT had a rating of 0.16.
In the rankings, Dynamite ranked at #13 for the night, whereas NXT was ranked #56.
On the shows, AEW Dynamite saw Kenny Omega obliterate Sonny Kiss in 25 seconds in the first round of the World Title Eliminator Tournament. Also, The Young Bucks were victorious in a Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match against The Butcher & The Blade, Private Party and The Dark Order to become the #1 Contenders for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
And in one of the wackiest, most talked-about segments of the year, Chris Jericho and MJF treated the world to “Dinner Debonair” which, if you haven’t already, has to be seen to be believed.
Meanwhile, on NXT, Kushida defeated The Velveteen Dream and Tomasso Ciampa in a Triple Threat Match to open the show. Ember Moon continued her impressive return by beating Jessi Kamea via submission, and in the main event, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch defeated Breezango to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions in a match which saw the shocking return of Pat McAfee.
