This week’s ratings are in for Wednesday 16th December’s editions of WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite. The latter has continued its dominance from the previous ratings over the black and yellow brand but experienced a ratings drop. NXT, meanwhile, experienced a strong week with ratings picking up.
According to Showbuzzdaily, AEW Dynamite pulled in an average of 806,000 viewers whilst NXT attracted 766,000 viewers.
NXT scored an increase whilst Dynamite saw a slight decrease. AEW’s fall from 995,000 is an 18.9% drop; NXT, by comparison, saw growth from 659,000 to 766,000 (16.2% up).
In the key demographic of 18-49, Dynamite again has the advantage, with an average rating of 0.32 to NXT‘s 0.19.
This is also borne out in the rankings. NXT moved up to #34; whilst Dynamite fell to #3.
On the shows, AEW Dynamite saw Kenny Omegadefeat Joey Janela to retain the AEW World Championship, The Acclaimedpinned SCU and Cody Rhodes kept Angelico down for the 3-count. We also saw several matches be made for next week’s Holiday Bash special including Dustin Rhodes vs Evil Uno, The Acclaimed vs The Young Bucks and Top Flight vs MJF & Chris Jericho.
Meanwhile, NXTfeatured The Grizzled Young Veterans reintroducing themselves; the continuation of Xia Li and Boa‘s bizarre storyline; and Ever-Rise calling out Goldberg (no, we’re not kidding). Elsewhere, Kyle O’Reilly defeated Pete Dunne to challenge Finn Balor at New Year’s Evil; Toni Storm defeated Rhea Ripley, and Karrion Kross squashed Desmond Troy.
