AEW Dynamite Set To Feature “Something Big”

AEW Dynamite set

The forthcoming episode of AEW Dynamite will take place on Wednesday, November 2 from the Chesapeake Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. With four championship matches scheduled amongst a card of what is currently six matches, there may also be a huge surprise on the show.

Per Bryan Alvarez on the latest Wrestling Observer Live, “something big” is going to happen on the broadcast. There was no word on what, exactly, this could be, though the Tony Khan-helmed organisation rarely fails when surprises are teased:

“Yesterday I was told something big is happening on the show and it’s going to be one of those things that everybody is going to be talking about. So I asked around and nobody would tell me anything but it was confirmed to me that something is happening tonight.”

The only surprise currently confirmed for the broadcast is the appearance of a former ROH World Champion, who’ll challenge Chris Jericho for the championship. That the identity of the former champion has been kept a secret going into the show indicates that it won’t be someone currently employed by the Tony Khan-helmed organisation.

Tony Khan’s History Of Surprises In AEW

Since the inauguration of All Elite Wrestling in 2019, Tony Khan has rarely shied away from utilising surprises in abundance. Even on AEW’s first show, this was the case, with the debuts of Jon Moxley, Awesome Kong, and a slew of other one-off appearances.

More recent surprises from the AEW boss have featured his announcement of having purchased Ring of Honor, the creation of AEW World Trios Championships, and the signing of several key players, such as Claudio Castagnoli, Keith Lee, and Saraya.

The current card for AEW Dynamite is as follows:

  • Chris Jericho vs. a former ROH World Champion – ROH World Championship match
  • Orange Cassidy vs. Luchasaurus vs. Rey Fenix – AEW All Atlantic Championship match
  • Samoa Joe vs. Brian Cage – ROH World Television Championship match
  • Jade Cargill vs. Marina Shafir – AEW TBS Championship match
  • Jon Moxley vs. Lee Moriarty
  • Darby Allin vs. Jay Lethal
  • Renee Paquette sits down with Britt Baker and Saraya
  • Daddy Ass Birthday Bash
