AEW Dynamite Results – February 24th 2021

Keep up with all of tonight’s AEW Dynamite results as the show’s 74th episode emanates from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida with just over a week to go till Revolution!

Check out the results from last week’s Dynamite!

The results from this week’s Dynamite were as follows:

  • Jon Moxley defeated Ryan Nemeth via Pinfall (2:42)
  • Brian Cage & Ricky Starks defeated The Varsity Blonds via Pinfall (9:41)
  • Jake Hager defeated Brandon Cutler via Pinfall (3:18)
  • Hangman Page defeated Isiah Kassidy via Pinfall (13:28)
  • Nyla Rose defeated Britt Baker via Pinfall, advancing in the Women’s Eliminator (13:25)
  • Lance Archer defeated Rey Fenix via Pinfall, qualifying for the Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match (17:17)

Jon Moxley vs Ryan Nemeth, Moxley Addresses The Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch

  • Nemeth gets some offence in early on but Moxley stuns him with a slap to take total control. Moxley hits some stiff strikes and joint manipulation and counters various attempts from Nemeth to regain control before hitting the Paradigm Shift to get a very quick win.
  • Moxley says as soon as he lost the AEW World Championship, he’d do whatever it took to get it back and turns out that means he has to face barbed wire ropes and landmines.
  • Moxley says various violent ideas come to your head when you think of Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch stipulation and he says he’s addicted to the violence and being in the ring.
  • Moxley says the stipulation is too attractive because of that but Omega isn’t the first man to try and take him out this way. Moxley ends by saying that even if this is the end, it’s a hell of a way to go out.

The Varsity Blonds vs Brian Cage & Ricky Starks, Sting & Darby Allin enact their revenge

  • Taz joins commentary and says Team Taz aren’t sweating The Varsity Blonds before the bell rings. Varsity Blonds use their athleticism to gain control over Ricky Starks before Starks falls to the outside and Pillman follows up with a rope-assisted
  • Garrison gets the first near-fall of the match with a roll-up, Pillman tags in and gets thrown to the outside by Starks. Cage powerbombs him into the corner post, resulting in a hard landing on the steps for Pillman, before rolling back in and tagging in.
  • Cage easily overpowers Pillman, allowing Starks to pick up the scraps after tagging back in. Team Taz maintain control by keeping Pillman in their corner, isolated from Garrison. Pillman gets a roll-up for a 2-count but Cage tags in and returns with one of his own after driving his opponent into the turnbuckle.
  • Stark tags in and gets a 2-count off a missile dropkick before Pillman creates an opening long enough to tag in Garrison. Garrison cleans house, taking down Cage with a suicide dive and getting a near-fall from a facebuster. Varsity Blonds hit a dropkick/powerbomb combination for a near-fall.
  • Cage gets a blind tag whilst Varsity Blonds are setting up for their finisher, allowing him to hit Garrison with a brutal clothesline. He follows up with the Drill Claw on Pillman to pick up the win.
  • After the match, we see a video on the titantron on Sting opening up the bodybag Team Taz drove away with a few weeks ago to reveal Darby Allin looking better than even with new face paint!
  • Sting makes his way out to the arena with another body bag, revealing Hook inside before Darby rides down to the ring from the rafters on a zipline – skateboard in hand! Darby takes down Cage, allowing Sting to hit the Stinger Splash and Scorpion Death Drop on Starks, leaving both of Team Taz laid out in the ring.

Miro, Kip Sabian & Penelope Ford Interviewed By Tony Schiavone

  • Tony says this is an uncomfortable interview but Sabian says this whole thing is a joke. He says this was meant to be the best day of their lives but it was ruined by Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy. Miro says he’ll get to Cassidy eventually but he wants to focus on Taylor.
  • Miro tells ‘Charles’ that he can come back anytime whilst Schiavone is handed a note. He hands it to Miro who reads it out as a comedic match invitation between Miro/Savian and Best Friends. Miro says this is childish and he’ll respond to Charles in-person.

Brandon Cutler vs Jake Hagar, Jericho/MJF attack Papa Buck

  • Cutler tries to get some offence in but Hagar takes on dominant control early on, hitting the Hagar Bomb early. Cutler manages to create an opening though, throwing Hagar to the outside before following up with a tope suicida & con hilo.
  • Hagar manages to catch Cutler as he makes his way back into the ring, taking him down . Hagar hits a
  • Matt says that they don’t have to wait till Revolution and tell MJF & Chris Jericho to come out right now. Their music plays but they don’t come out, eventually appearing on the titantron backstage. Jericho says why would they confront them now before revealing they have The Young Bucks’ father and he’s covered in blood. They throw him into the Bucks’ faces on a production truck before escaping to a nearby car.
  • The Bucks find him backstage and Matt tries to catch up with Jericho & MJF but they drive away just in a time, taunting him as they escape.
  • After the break, we see Papa Buck get loaded into an ambulance as The Good Brothers and Nick get on with him. Matt stays behind as the ambulance drives away.

Winner: Jake Hager via Pinfall in 3:18

Isiah Kassidy vs Hangman Page

  • Kassidy attacks Page before the bell but Page quickly gets the better of him – stomping Kassidy into the corner to gain control. Kassidy eventually creates an opening with a gut kick to Page, but Page catches him off a dive before throwing him to the outside and hitting a springboard splash.
  • Page clotheslines Kassidy into the crowd before staring down Hardy at ringside. As both men are getting back in the ring, Hardy grabs Page’s foot – allowing Kassidy to finally get some significant offence in. John Silver & Alex Reynolds appear, however, and get Aubrey to eject Matt from ringside.
  • Kassidy throws Page to the outside before working over his Buckshot Lariat arm by traping it in the ringside barricade. Page goes back in the ring and tries for a tope suicida but Kassidy catches him before springboarding his whole weight onto Page’s arm.
  • Kassidy continues working over Page’s arm but Page eventually mounts an offence, ending with a stiff forearm strike for a near-fall. Page catches Kassidy into a Death Valley Driver and follows up with a brainbuster for another near-fall. Kassidy hits a reverse hurricanrana for a near-fall of his own!
  • He locks in an armbar on Page’s injured arm, but Page breaks the hold via rope break. Page tries for his middle rope diving lariat but Kassidy catches him and drives him arm first onto the top rope. Kassidy attempts a springboard Canadian destroyer but Page catches him into the Deadeye for the win.
  • After the match, Matt says on the mic that Page betrayed him so now he’s going to hurt every member of the Dark Order that Page loves so much. Hardy appears on the ramp with Alan Angels before throwing him off through the ringside table.

Winner: Hangman Page via Pinfall in 13:28

Britt Baker vs Nyla Rose – Women’s Eliminator Semi-Final Match

  • Nyla overpowers Baker early on, causing Britt to throw a fit and kick over various bins in the crowd area before reentering the ring.Rose goes for a cannonball in the corner but Rebel drags Baker out the way. Rose opts to lift Baker up and slam her down with a Gorilla Press instead.
  • Britt takes Nyla to the outside and traps her arm in the ringside barricade, weakening her power. Britt continues her strategy in the ring, stamping on Rose’s right arm and hitting various double knee armbreakers before we cut to commercial.
  • We cut back to Rose hitting a superplex on Baker, but Baker immediately follows up with suplex into the turnbuckle. Nyla takes Baker down with a shoulder tackle and tries for a middle rope splash but Rebel distracts her. She takes down Rebel and hits a neckbreaker on Baker instead for a 2-count.
  • Baker hits a superkick on Rose and grabs the surgical glove from Rebel. Rose catches her though, hitting her with a chokeslam before setting up Rebel in the corner and hitting her with the cannonball.
  • Britt takes advantage of the distraction though, attempting to lock in the Lockjaw. Rose stuns Baker with a stiff right hook before following up with a powerbomb for a very near-fall.
  • Rose hits a second powerbomb to pick up the win.

Winner: Nyla Rose via Pinfall, advancing in the Women’s Eliminator in 13:25

Rey Fenix vs Lance Archer – Face Of The Revolution Qualifier

  • The two go back and forth early on with Fenix eventually gaining control with a middle rope hurricanrana. Archer quashes Fenix’s momentum, however, swatting him in mid-air before Fenix throws Archer to the outside and hits a tope suicida.
  • The momentum swings in Archer’s favour after Jake the Snake pulls Fenix off the top rope onto the ramp but Fenix jumps over Jake to hit a dive off the ramp to the ringside area. The two brawl on the outside before Fenix eventually throws Archer back in the ring and hits a springboard frog splash for a 2-count.
  • Archer regains control by beating Fenix over the head with heavy strikes. He attempts a pinfall but Fenix continually kicks out at one, irritating ‘The Murderhawk Monster’. Archer takes Fenix to the ring apron before hitting a clothesline to stun his opponent.
  • Archer throws Fenix into the barricade before delivering a Cannonball. Archer continues to easily overpower Fenix but Fenix eventually hits a springboard dropkick to the head to regain control. Archer hits his Old School-esque springboard moonsault before continuing to overpower his smaller opponent.
  • Fenix creates an opening eventually with a tightrope walk into a Penalty Kick before following up with the rolling cutter for a near-fall. Archer tries for the chokeslam from the top rope but Fenix counters into a Spanish fly for a 2-count.
  • Fenix hits a flurry of strikes but Archer levels him with the pounce. Archer hits the chokeslam but Fenix kicks out again and commentary note that we are approaching TV time and a draw would mean neither would qualify.
  • Archer hits the Blackout to pick out the win and qualify for Revolution’s Face Of The Revolution Ladder match. After the match, Archer fistbumps Fenix out of respect to close the show.
