AEW Dynamite Results – April 14th 2021

Keep up with all of tonight’s AEW Dynamite results as the show’s 81st episode emanates from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida as AEW’s flagship show continues to build to Double or Nothing!

The results from this week’s show were as follows:

  • The Young Bucks defeated Death Triangle via Pinfall to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship (23:22)
  • Jade Cargill defeated Red Velvet via Pinfall (7:39)
  • Anthony Ogogo defeated Colt Karter via Pinfall (0:23)
  • Chris Jericho defeats Dax Harwood via Pinfall (13:20)
  • Kris Statlander defeated Amber Nova via Pinfall (2:38)
  • Darby Allin defeated Matt Hardy via Pinfall to retain the TNT Championship (16:27)

MJF Warns Mike Tyson To Be On The Right Side Of History

  • To open the show, we see MJF asking Tyson to “not be on the wrong side of history” before giving him a blank cheque with his name on it. Tyson rips it up in MJF’s face and spits in his face.

The Young Bucks vs Death Triangle – AEW World Tag Team Championship Match

  • Don Callis accompanies The Young Bucks to the ring. PAC and Matt Jackson start the match off with neither man gaining the advantage before Fenix and Nick tag in. Jurassic Express, Best Friends, SCU and Butcher & Blade are seen watching in the rafters as Death Triangle hit stereo Space Flying Tiger Drops on the champions.
  • Death Triangle hit several kicks and a superkick on Matt for a near-fall. Nick counters a Fenix springboard attempt by swiping his legs out from underneath him to take control. The two try a double rope-assisted slam but Fenix takes both men down with a double arm drag before tagging in PAC.
  • PAC hits a brainbuster on Nick for a near-fall but the Bucks take him down with a suicide dropkick off a distraction followed up by stereo apron powerbombs. They begin to focus on PAC and prevent a tag to Fenix as we cut to break.
  • We cut back to The Bucks attempting a double superkick but he throws them both out of the ring and attempts a hot tag but Nick pulls Fenix off the apron before he can make it. PAC takes Nick down with a lariat before tagging in Fenix who takes down both opponents with a double cutter for a two-count.
  • PAC tags in and hits a blue thunder bomb for a near-fall. Matt tags in but PAC hits him with a german suplex whilst Fenix takes Nick down with a tope suicida. PAC attempts the Black Arrow but The Bucks take him down with two superkick before Nick hits Fenix with a destroyer.
  • PAC tags to Fenix before hitting a superplex followed up by a 450 splash from Fenix for a two-count. PAC hits the Black Arrow but Nick breaks up the pinfall. Nick drags Matt to his corner to make the tag and low blows PAC behind the referee’s back. Fenix tags in and get demasked, allowing Nick to pin him via roll-up.

Winner: The Young Bucks via Pinfall, retaining the AEW World Championship in 23:22

Hangman Page Interviewed With The Dark Order

  • Alex Marvez asks Page about Omega’s relationship with The Young Bucks & The Good Brothers. He avoids the question and goes to get drinks whilst John Silver lifts his arm up whilst being cheered on by the rest of The Dark Order.

The Inner Circle & Mike Tyson Interview

  • Marvez asks why Tyson & Jericho are friendly now. Jericho says he and the group apologised to all the people they hurt and that he has a lot of respect for him as the greatest heavyweight boxer in history. Jericho says he called in Tyson for some help last week and he answered the call.
  • Jericho doesn’t want any special treatment in the match so he wants it called down the middle. Tyson agrees and wishes Jericho luck.

Red Velvet vs Jade Cargill

  • Velvet attacks Cargill before the bell to take control before throwing her to the outside and hitting a tope suicida. Cargill whips Velvet into the barricade before hitting a fallaway slam into several wrestlers at ringside to regain the advantage.
  • Cargill hits a brainbuster on Velvet in the ring before we cut to commercial. We cut back to Velvet taking control after a running enziguiri and dodging a spear from Cargill, causing her to run shoulder first into the ringpost. Velvet hits a standing moonsault but Cargill kicks out at two.
  • Velvet tries for a diving moonsault but Cargill dodges and hits Jaded to pick up the win.

Winner: Jade Cargill via Pinfall in 7:39

Britt Baker Gives Us An Update On The Ranking

  • Britt gives us an update on the rankings, telling us that because Velvet lost Britt will now be ranked number two – just below Tay Conti. Britt says she’ll be wrestling on Dark to get her wins up so she can give the fans what they truly want: A proper AEW Women’s World Champion.

Anthony Ogogo vs Colt Karter

  • Ogogo dominates in a collar-and-elbow tie-up and hits a punch to Carter’s gut. Carter is unable to get up so the referee stops the match, giving Ogogo the win.

Winner: Anthony Ogogo via Stoppage in 23 seconds.

Miro Sends A Message To Kip Sabian

  • Miro says he hasn’t heard from Sabian so he’s moving on with or without him. He calls out all of AEW’s champions and says they better do ‘a Sabian and disappear’ before he gets his hands on them.

Chris Jericho vs Dax Harwood – Mike Tyson As Special Guest Enforcer

  • Both men exchange fists to start the match off with Jericho coming out on top before grabbing a chair from ringside. He attempts to hit Harwood with it but Tyson disarms him with the distraction allowing Harwood to take control. Harwood tries the same thing with Jericho’s bat but Tyson disarms him too.
  • Jericho takes control as both get back into the ring but Harwood takes control by whipping Jericho shoulder first into the ringpost as we cut to commercial. We cut back to Jericho building momentum with a Lionsault before hitting a lariat for a near-fall.
  • Dax hits a rebound powerbomb on Jericho for a near-fall of his own. He attempts a diving headbutt but Jericho dodges before locking in the Walls of Jericho which is broken up by Cash Wheeler punching Jericho behind the referee’s back. Guevara takes down Wheeler in response.
  • Jericho goes for the Judas Effect but Harwood dodges and hits a brainbuster for another near-fall. Jericho hits a Codebreaker but The Pinnacle appear to attack The Inner Circle on the stage. Wheeler attempts to hit Jericho with a bat but Mike Tyson hits a knockout punch to take him down.
  • Dax attempts a piledriver before Guevara distracts him at ringside. Jericho hits the Judas Effect to pick up the win.
  • Jericho announces after the match that Mike Tyson is an ancillary member of The Inner Circle.

Winner: Chris Jericho via Pinfall in 13:20

The Elite Put AEW On Notice

  • Callis calls the Young Bucks the best team in 2000 years before Omega says they got sick of fans telling them what to do. Matt Jackson says they had a match of the year contender in the opener and calls out the entire tag team division. Callis ends by saying we should expect more fans before superkicking the camera.

Thunder Rosa Calls Out The AEW & NWA Women’s World Champion

  • Rosa says she’s been putting . She says she’ll be next in line whether the next Women’s World Champion is Hikaru or Tay Conti. She also calls out Serena Deeb and says the NWA Women’s World Championship still belongs to her.

Kris Statlander vs Amber Nova

  • Statlander maintains control throughout, hitting a handspring leg drop before following up with a cradle piledriver to pick up the win.

Winner: Kris Statlander via Pinfall in 2:38

Christian Cage Interview

  • Cage says he wants to out work everyone by proving it in an open challenge before Team Taz interrupts. Taz asks Cage straight up if he accepts but Cage calls the group a “dumpster fire” and says he wants to win championship in AEW. He tells Taz no, he will not join Team Taz.
  • Taz says Cage has just made the biggest mistake in his life before Powerhouse Hobbs and Hook surround him. Cage attempts to hit the Killswitch but Hook distracts him, allowing him to hit a shoulder tackle. He throws Christian into the barricade and stomps on his head on the steel steps.

Darby Allin vs Matt Hardy – Falls Count Anywhere Match For The TNT Championship

  • Darby goes for a springboard coffin drop early on but Matt cuts him off with a steel chair. He keeps up the assault with the weapon and attempts to hit a Twist of Fate with a chair around Darby’s neck but Darby escapes and gets revenge with chair shots of his own.
  • As Darby starts building momentum, The Butcher attacks Darby along with the rest of the Hardy Money Office before The Dark Order come out with Sting to even the odds before we cut to commercial. We cut back to Darby being whipped over the barricade. Sting rolls into the ring before being confronted by Lance Archer.
  • Archer hits the Blackout on Isiah Kassidy before taking both of Private Party out of the arena. Darby hits ground-and-pound strikes on Hardy on the stage before being thrown a baseball bat by Sting. He goes to make a strike but Matt Hardy counters with a low blow.
  • Matt hits a Twist of Fate with a chair around Darby’s neck but he only gets a two count. The two brawl to the backstage area where Hardy sets up a ladder before placing Darby on a table. He hits a leg drop off the ladder through the table but only gets another near-fall.
  • The two head back out to the stage and Hardy attempts to hit a crucifix powerbomb off the stage through the ringside table but Darby hits a low blow of his own. He retrieves Sting’s bat and assaults Hardy and commentary’s equipment to clear the announce table.
  • He sets Matt up on the announce table before hitting a Coffin Drop off some scaffolding to pick up the win.

Winner: Darby Allin via Pinfall to retain the TNT Championship in 16:27
