The October 27th edition of AEW Dynamite saw a shock return and multiple matches announced for Full Gear, while the AEW World Title Eliminator and TBS Title tournaments continued.

The road to Full Gear is becoming a little clearer with more matches being announced for the show in Minneapolis on November 13th. While Dynamite also saw wins for CM Punk Hikaru Shida and the Dark Order.

CM Punk Wins Again

In the opening match of the night the undefeated CM Punk took on Bobby Fish after he confronted AEW’s latest signing last week. Punk gained the momentum earlier, but Fish fought back targeting his rival’s left knee. Despite this Punk regained the momentum but Fish successfully managed to evade the GTS, only to be caught in the manoeuvre just moments later.

Darby Allin Returns

After quickly seeing off the challenge of Bryce Donovan, MJF grabbed a microphone and went to work on the crowd and Darby Allin. On September 29th MJF declared himself the ‘top pillar’ of AEW’s homegrown talent which ended in a confrontation with Darby Allin. A week later when Allin was leaving the arena he was attacked by The Pinnacle putting him out of action.

As MJF cut his latest promo, the lights went out and Sting appeared looking for revenge after being beaten down the previous week. In the ensuring brawl, Allin dressed in what could have been Columbo’s trench coat jumped out of the crowd sending MJF scuttling up the ramp. Holding a microphone, Allin kept things short and sweet, “Full Gear.”

Multiple Matches Set For Full Gear

After Sammy Guevara retained his TNT Championship over Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky ran to the ring to help Page take out the champion. In response, the Inner Circle came out to make the save. Jericho then cut a promo insulting the pair before pointing out that Guevara won so there would be a five on five tag team match at Full Gear. Not only that, the match will be a Minneapolis Street Fight. Next week the Inner Circle will choose who they’ll face in that match.

Elsewhere on the show, the Lucha Bros challenged FTR to a match at the November spectacular, a match that was later accepted by the number one contenders.

Jon Moxley and Hikaru Shida Advance

In what was arguably match of the night, Hikaru Shida saw off the challenge of Serena Deeb. The match swung back and forth with each woman scoring multiple near-falls in a hard-hitting contest. When all was said and done, Shida snuck the win with a roll-up but was attacked by Deeb with a chair after the bell. The victory means that Shida advances to the next round of the TBS Championship Tournament.

Meanwhile in the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament, Jon Moxley quickly dispatched “10.” The Dark Order member was busted open early before being taken out entirely by a Paradigm Shift. Moxley will now meet Orange Cassidy in the semi-finals.

In the show’s main event The Dark Order triumphed over The Elite with a huge helping hand from “Hangman” Adam Page as he prepares to meet Kenny Omega at Full Gear.
