As reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the October 26th edition of AEW Dynamite pulled in an average of 997,000 viewers. The show also scored a 0.32 rating in the 18-49-year-old demographic.
That is an increase on the previous week, which saw a total viewership average of 752,000 viewers with a 0.26 rating in the key 18-49-year-old demographic.
The episode was headlined by Jon Moxley defending the AEW World Championship against Penta El Zero Miedo. Retaining following two back-to-back Paradigm Shifts, Moxley was subsequently beaten down by The Firm, who MJF fired for their actions. He, too, found himself laid out by the Stokely Hathaway-led faction, teasing a babyface turn.
Swerve In Our Glory earned a rematch against The Acclaimed for the AEW World Tag Team Championships after besting FTR, while Riho worked her first Dynamite match since December, losing to Jamie Hayter. The Blackpool Combat Club vs. Jericho Appreciation Society saga also continued, with Bryan Danielson felling Sammy Guevara, and Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler YUTA defeating Chris Jericho and Daniel Garcia.
Outside the ring, it was also teased that The Elite – the trio of Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks – would be making their return to the company. They were said to be backstage at the event, marking the first time they’ve been in attendance for Dynamite since the events of the All Out media scrum.
