As reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the October 18th edition of AEW Dynamite pulled in an average of 752,000 viewers. The show also scored a 0.26 rating in the 18-49-year-old demographic.
That is a decrease on the previous week, which saw a total viewership average of 983,000 viewers with a 0.32 rating in the key 18-49-year-old demographic.
The episode, which went head-to-head with NXT was headlined by an anticipated AEW World Championship between Jon Moxley and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page. Although the match was well-received for what it was, it concluded in fear for Page’s health, who was taken to hospital and diagnosed with a concussion after taking a Lariat.
MJF subsequently confirmed himself as Moxley’s next challenger, using his Casino Ladder match opportunity against ‘The Death Rider’ at Full Gear. This came with yet another career-defining promo from ‘The Salt of the Earth’.
In other championship contests, Death Triangle retained the AEW World Trios Championships over Best Friends, Chris Jericho saw off Dalton Castle to remain ROH World Champion, and Toni Storm defeated Hikaru Shida to keep the interim AEW Women’s World Champion. Inaugural Women’s Champion Riho also returned following the latter contest, saving Storm from Jamie Hayter and Rebel.
