The total viewership and demo ratings for the latest instalment of AEW Dynamite have been revealed.
As reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the March 9th episode of AEW Dynamite drew 945,000 viewers. The show scored a 0.40 rating in the 18-49-year-old demographic, which equates to 516,000 viewers.
This is a slight decrease from the previous week which pulled in 966,000 viewers, 460,000 of those were in the 18-49 year-old demographic. That’s a rating of 0.35.
Much like Revolution, the March 9th episode of Dynamite was a whirlwind of chaos from start to finish. The show opened with Chris Jericho addressing his defeat to Eddie Kingston at the previous pay-per-view. This eventually led to a handshake between the pair, after Kingston revealed he almost didn’t go through with their match.
The two men were then attacked by 2Point0, before Santana and Ortiz came to make the save. However, Jericho turned on his Inner Circle stable mates, before being joined by Jake Hager. The new faction of 2Point0, Jericho and Hager, then put Kingston through a table.
Elsewhere, the team of Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley earned a convincing win flanked by William Regal. After the match, Regal cut an emotional promo addressing his career to date and personal struggles, declaring that Moxley and Danielson will be taking over.
Jeff Hardy finally made his long-awaited AEW debut, coming to the aid of his brother Matt as he was kicked out of the AHFO. After the clash, the Hardy’s stared down Sting and Darby Allin who had also come to help Hardy.
Thunder Rosa earned another shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship with victory over Leyla Hirsch. The rematch between Rosa and Britt Baker will take place next week inside a steel cage.
In the main event, Scorpio Sky pinned Sammy Guevara to win the TNT Championship. Guevara missed a 630 Splash through a table, almost causing the match to be called off. At this, Tay Conti came to be by his side, but as Guevara fought back in the ring, Conti and a watching Paige VanZant got into an altercation. Eventually VanZant attacked Conti which distracted Guevara long enough for Scorpio Sky to hit the TKO and score the win.
After the match Paige VanZant signed her AEW contract across the broken bodies of Tay Conti and Sammy Guevara.
