The total viewership and demo ratings for the latest instalment of AEW Dynamite have been revealed.
As reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the April 27th edition of AEW Dynamite drew an average of 921,000 viewers. The show also scored a 0.33 rating in the key 18-49-year-old demographic. That works out at 424,000 viewers.
That is a decrease on the previous week when Dynamite pulled in 930,000 viewers, with a 0.37 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The April 27th episode of AEW Dynamite began with the Owen Hart Foundation tournament qualifying match between Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood. After an old-school style match, Harwood grabbed the win after reversing a roll-up.
After the match it was announced that Hangman Adam Page will defend his AEW World Championship against CM Punk at Double or Nothing. Page had been forced to miss the show after he tested positive for COVID-19. It was later reported that the show was “heavily rewritten” due to his absence.
Elsewhere, Wardlow defeated Lance Archer, and Serena Deeb saw off Hikaru Shida in a Street Fight. After Wardlow’s win, MJF teased that he will have to face W. Morrissey next week. Meanwhile, Rey Fenix also made a shock return from injury, reuniting Death Triangle.
It was also announced that Deonna Purrazzo will make her AEW debut on May 4th, as she bids to unify the Ring of Honor Women’s Title with victory over Mercedes Martinez.
In the show’s main event, Scorpio Sky defeated Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship in a spectacularly brutal Ladder Match.
