AEW Dynamite Sees Increase In Viewership
Dynamite has seen an increase in viewers compared to their first show of 2023. The January 4th edition of Dynamite drew an average audience of 876,000, meaning that the increase calculates to approximately 9.4%. All Elite Wrestling’s flagship show would also see an increase in the key demo, as the January 4th episode obtained an 18-49 rating of 0.26.
The main event of Dynamite saw a title change take place for the second week in a row. The final match in the best of seven series between Death Triangle and The Elite saw the AEW Trios Champions decided in a ladder match. Kenny Omega would climb the ladder and retrieve the titles to allow The Elite to reclaim their championships.
A major return also took place on the show, which was broadcast live from The Forum in Los Angeles, California. Following months of inactivity, Adam Cole would return live in front of the LA fans to a huge ovation. Cole thanked the AEW fans or all of their support and well wishes while he was away, before announcing that he is back, putting the AEW locker room on notice in the process.
Dynamite opened with “Hangman” Adam Page’s return to the ring, facing off against the man who put him on the shelf, Jon Moxley. Page would win the match, hitting Mox with a Buck Shot Lariat to win the return bout.
Bryan Danielson’s journey to a match for the AEW World Championship would also begin on Dynamite. The American Dragon would defeat Konosuke Takeshita on the show, much to the anger of MJF. If Danielson continues this winning streak, he will face MJF for the title in a one hour Ironman match at the Revolution pay-per-view.
