AEW Dynamite takes place on Wednesday 6th April live from Boston, Massachusetts with a huge double title match on the show as well as the debut of Samoa Joe!
Joe revealed himself as part of the Tony Khan universe of wrestling when he made a shocking appearance at the end of Ring Of Honor Supercard, confronting Jay Lethal and choking out AEW producer Sonjay Dutt in the middle of the ring.
The former 3-time NXT Champion’s time in WWE came to an end in January 2022 on the same day Blackpool Combat Club’s head honcho William Regal also left the promotion. On AEW Dynamite Samoa Joe will compete in the ring for the first time in AEW as he takes on ‘Platinum’ Max Caster in a qualifying match for the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
ROH Supercard also added a new wrinkle to the revived feud between FTR and The Young Bucks. On that show, FTR added to their legacy when they defeated The Briscoes to become ROH Tag Team Champions. Now holding the title that The Young Bucks have held three times in their career, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler will put those belts as well as their AAA Tag Team Championship on the line against the Jackson brothers.
Former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida will be in action as she faces the sullen Julia Hart in a qualifier for the women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The winner will join already qualified stars Jamie Hayter and Toni Storm in the brackets.
The Hardys continue their renaissance as they do battle with AFO’s Butcher and Blade in a Tables Match. Captain Shawn Dean best beware the chair as he goes one on one with Shawn Spears and Christian Cage will face off one-on-one with Adam Cole. Tony Khan has also announced that fans will hear from Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz one week after they were once again brutally beaten down by The Jericho Appreciation Society.
