AEW President Tony Khan announced that the 29th of September episode of AEW Dynamite is dedicated to the memory of Brodie Lee.

Khan took to Twitter to make the announcement stating that the show emanating from Lee’s hometown of Rochester, New York will feature a special card and a huge TNT Championship match in his honour.

Khan posted the following on Tuesday night:

It’s Wednesday. You know what that means. Tonight #AEWDynamite is Live from Rochester, home of Mr. Brodie Lee. Tonight we’ll have a great show dedicated to his memory with a special card including a huge TNT Championship match, a title forever synonymous with his indelible legacy

The news coincides with a new documentary This Is Brodie Lee, which premiered this week in Rochester.

Brodie Lee debuted for AEW last year as the Exalted One of the Dark Order. His impact was felt company-wide as his presence instantly elevated the group before destroying Cody Rhodes for the TNT Championship.

Lee passed away in December of last year to the shock of the entire wrestling community. Since his passing AEW celebrated his life with the highly emotional and heartwarming Brodie Lee Celebration of Life edition of AEW Dynamite on December 30th, 2020.

The TNT Championship that Brodie Lee proudly held will be defended on AEW Dynamite with dominant champion Miro defending his title against Inner Circle’s Sammy Guevara. Guevara confronted Miro after The Redeemer had sought to continue his attacks on Guevara’s best friend and master of the tornado DDT, Fuego Del Sol.
