AEW Dynamite 250 Ratings Highest In Months Despite RNC Competition

MJF vs. Will Ospreay on AEW Dynamite 250

AEW Dynamite 250 was a ratings success.

The 250th episode of AEW Dynamite on July 17th was a massive one. Will Ospreay and MJF opened the show with a nearly hour-long classic that saw MJF capture the International Championship, but not without help from his Dynamite Diamond Ring. As referee Bryce Remsburg was knocked down, MJF used the ring to punch Ospreay in the face, pinning the former champion with just one second to go until the 60 minute time limit expired.

Mariah May also followed up on the previous week’s attack on Toni Storm, making her entrance to Storm’s music and dressed as her Timeless character. May spoke about the upcoming All In pay-per-view inside Wembley Stadium and indicated that she wanted to face Storm in front of as many people as possible. She called Storm’s bloody crying the previous week her mentor’s greatest performance, and said that her own greatest performance would take place inside Wembley.

Elsewhere on the show, Swerve Strickland defeated Kazuchika Okada in a champion vs. champion match. The bout ended via disqualification when The Young Bucks attacked Strickland after about ten minutes of action.

As reported by Programming Insider, Dynamite earned a total average viewership of 795,000 viewers throughout the night. Wrestlenomics points out that this is the highest total viewership since April 10, 2024. In addition, the show earned a 0.27 rating in the key 18-49 year old demographic, the highest since June 5th.

Dynamite did face competition from the ongoing political coverage of the Republican National Convention, where both Hulk Hogan and Linda McMahon are expected to speak on July 18th.
