AEW Denies Recent Tony Khan Report

AEW Denies Report Regarding Tony Khan

AEW has refuted claims made in a recent report concerning Tony Khan.

2024 is set to be the most important year for All Elite Wrestling since its inception as the promotion is currently negotiating a new media rights deal with current suitor Warner Bros. Discovery, who broadcast Dynamite, Rampage and Collision across channels TBS and TNT.

While a deal has yet to be reached, Khan has consistently remained optimistic in interviews and at press conferences that he has a great relationship with WBD in general and the CEO David Zaslav. However, as reported in an update by Matthew Belloni of The Puck, Tony Khan was said to be “disappointed with the offer currently on the table” for media rights and that Khan would be well aware that WBD will not be broadcasting NBA coverage for the next season.

In an update by Dave Meltzer, the report is said to be untrue and Khan is not disappointed with the offer but both sides have yet to reach an agreement on a new deal. It is also added that some have speculated that due to Belloni being friends with WWE CEO Nick Khan the report could have been a “planted piece.”

Tony Khan Reportedly Facing More Issues Behind The Scenes

All Elite Wrestling recently presented Double or Nothing 2024, marking 5 years since the promotion made its debut on pay-per-view. While the achievement was a reason to celebrate, a report following the show has given an insight into AEW’s creative process and details Tony Khan’s more chaotic approach to booking compared to what fans of the product in the earlier years may have been used to.

A new update has since provided an additional insight into the relationship between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery.
