All Elite Wrestling have today confirmed the signing of Matt Sydal via their now trademark ‘black brick’ graphic.

Sydal, who had previously competed for the likes of Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling and WWE (as Evan Bourne) debuted for the company at September’s All Out event, as the surprise ‘Joker’ entrant during the 21 men Casino Battle Royale.
Since then, Sydal has wrestled on both AEW Dynamite and the YouTube companion series AEW Dark, compiling a singles record of 5 wins and 3 losses.
Prior to signing with All Elite, Sydal had been testing free agency following his departure from Impact Wrestling in 2018.
More recently, Sydal competed for Ring of Honor as part of their Pure Title tournament. He appeared on two episodes, making it to the quarter-finals, before being ousted by eventual winner Jonathan Gresham.
Interestingly, these appearances overlapped his AEW debut, marking a somewhat tenuous crossover between the two promotions.
Following the news of his signing breaking on social media, Sydal took to Twitter to relay a short message of gratitude:
