Despite advertising a blockbuster main event, AEW Collision could not break half a million views with its latest episode.
In a tweet posted today, Wrestlenomics confirmed that the 12th of August edition of AEW Collision drew 476,000 viewers.
The figure has grown by 59,000 viewers since last week’s episode, which featured “Absolute” Ricky Starks battling CM Punk in the main event.
Though this week’s main event – an AEW World Trio’s bout between The House of Black and CMFTR – seemed to draw more interest, it was not enough to surpass the 500,000 mark.
As has previously been highlighted, Saturday evenings pose a ratings challenge for All Elite Wrestling.
In addition to contending with a diminished home viewership on Saturday nights, AEW also faces the competition of UFC every Saturday, along with a WWE Premium Live Event at least once a month.
In addition to its viewer growth from last week, AEW also drew a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is an increase from last week’s 0.13 rating.
What Do AEW Have Planned For Next Week’s Collision?
Two matches are scheduled for next week’s Collision at the time of writing, which will be a special “Fight For The Fallen” event, with all proceeds going towards the victims of the Maui wildfires.
Willow Nightingale is set to take on Diamante, while Christian Cage will compete with Darby Allin.
It has yet to be confirmed whether one of these two matches will be a main event or if a main event will be announced later in the week.
