A new report has claimed that the launch of AEW Collision could have a negative impact on both Dynamite and Rampage.
The creation of the new show which is set to premiere on June 17th from the United Center in Chicago, sees AEW’s weekly television output increase by a further two hours. This has already had an impact on the company’s programming with the YouTube series Dark and Dark: Elevation being cancelled as all AEW content is brought under the Warner Bros Discovery umbrella.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that the new show could have a knock-on effect on Dynamite and Rampage. The Friday show in particular is already struggling, with ratings showing little to no growth.
“Adding a third show could hurt the Dynamite number, and one would expect it would hurt the still declining Rampage numbers. The Dynamite number, while still better than the recent average, was disappointing for such a loaded show this week and much of the promotion has been the Collision launch and not Dynamite. Rampage set record lows for the regular time slot.”
