AEW has just confirmed the signing of a 17-year professional wrestling veteran.

In terms of talent, AEW has one of the best locker rooms in pro wrestling. With superstars like Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, and Kazuchika Okada, to name a few, performing night in and night out, no one can deny that.

Now, it would seem they are preparing to add to that pool of talent, with the signing of a 17-year wrestling veteran. The veteran in question would bolster the Jacksonville-based promotion’s Women’s Division and is none other than Syuri Kondo.

Kondo has been an active wrestler since 2008, but became a household name during her most recent run from 2020 onwards with World Wonder Ring Stardom. She also has an extensive background in mixed martial arts, having fought in the UFC between 2017 and 2021.

As a former IWGP Women’s Champion, Kondo is a great addition to AEW and their sister company, ROH’s roster. It will be exciting to see her in action.

AEW’s signing of Syuri Kondo was announced at ROH Supercard of Honor 2025

Speaking of Syuri Kondo, her signing with AEW was announced last night at Supercard of Honor. As mentioned earlier, the 36-year-old will be working with both the Jacksonville-based promotion and its sister promotion, Ring of Honor.

The announcement was made with the help of a video package, showcasing some of Kond’s incredible feats in Japan, and listing all the things that make her a perfect fit for pro wrestling in the United States. While no information has been given regarding when exactly she will be making her debut, fans would do well to keep an eye out.
