AEW Announcer Jim Ross Believes Latest WWE Releases Are ‘Not The End Of The World

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross Recalls Turning Down Tammy Sytch's Offer To Be His

Wrestling veteran Jim Ross has opened up on the recent WWE releases.

Earlier this month ahead of the 7th February episode of SmackDown, the promotion reportedly released several popular and top stars from the contract. Several former champions such as, Cedric Alexander, The AOP, and Isla Dawn were released, while the promotion decided to not renew their agreement with Sonya Deville.

Addressing the latest unfortunate departures, current All Elite Wrestling announcer, Ross shared his views on it. A former WWE employee and Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, Ross opened up about the situation on the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast.

“Just stay positive and regroup. It’s not the end of the world. More opportunities will come. What kills you sometimes is how these talents react to the bad news and how it makes them overtly negative, and that’s not good. Stay positive, stay in shape, improve your game, and hopefully find yourself another landing spot. There’s plenty of landing spots out there. It’s just a matter of finding the right one for you, but it’s certainly not the end of the world. I can say that.”

Encouraging the stars and claiming it to be not the end of the world for them, Ross motivated them to find the best landing spot for the stars. A few months ago, Tegan Nox and Indi Hartwell were also released.

Jim Ross Comments On Ricky Starks’ WWE Debut

Speaking on the latest edition of Grilling JR, Jim Ross opened up on former AEW star Ricky Starks’ shocking WWE debut.

“Well, he’s a high motor guy. I don’t know if he’ll be the next Shawn Michaels at his size, but he has a unique future. He’s got a big personality. So hopefully he’ll do well and lives his dream. It seems like the dream for a lot of talents is to make it to WWE and call it a day. That’s not where it ends, that’s where it begins.

I saw the episode of NXT last night, surprised to see Ricky Starks. Don’t know how he’s gonna do. He’s got a high opinion of himself, and he’s got a lot of abilities, there’s no doubt about that, so we’ll see how it works out for him.

It’s never easy to get over, and hopefully he can get over and stay over as a top star. Remains to be seen, so we’ll see how it goes.”
