A member of the AEW announce team does not see a shock Samantha Irvin debut happening anytime soon.
Earlier in the week the wrestling world was stunned when Raw ring announcer Samantha Irvin announced on social media that she had left the company with a lengthy message thanking everyone who has supported her over the years. While many are sad to see Irvin leave WWE, the departure was somewhat expected given that her fiance Ricochet left the company earlier in the year.
With Ricochet now a part of AEW, Irvin making a shock appearance on Dynamite was speculated as soon as her exit was announced. However, according to Tony Schiavone, this is not a likely possibility.
Speaking about the former ring announcer’s departure on his What Happened When podcast, which was recorded before the October 23rd episode of Dynamite, Schiavone noted that they already have Justin Roberts in place and doesn’t see Irvin’s debut happening:
“We already got the best ring announcer in the world with Justin Roberts. And Arkady Aura is a great ring announcer, who’s a great person and is doing a great job. [Samantha Irvin] ain’t coming here. I wouldn’t think. And of course, I’ve been wrong so many times, but why would we?”
Continuing, Schiavone did acknowledge the unpredictability of the wrestling world and that Irvin could show up unannounced:
“I could show up tonight in Salt Lake City and there she could be.”
Additionally, Ricochet has also acknowledged the rumours regarding Samantha Irvin.
What’s Next For Samantha Irvin?
Shortly after Irvin broke the news that she would be leaving WWE, follow-up reports provided more information, stating that the former ring announcer would be focusing on her music career moving forward. It was also noted that the WWE schedule was one of “several factors” that influenced her decision to leave.
