Tony Schiavone is excited to continue his career in AEW.

On October 2nd, Tony Khan and AEW announced a new media rights deal with WBD after months of negotiations. The multi-year agreement will see Dynamite remain on TBS and Collision on TNT, with both shows also being simulcast on the Max streaming service in the US. The deal is said to be worth up to $185 million per year and will run from January 1st, 2025 to December 31st, 2027, with the option of a fourth year being added.

At the post-WrestleDream press conference, longtime AEW Announcer Tony Schiavone gave his thoughts on the deal, saying he is personally excited that it means his own career will continue for at least another four or five years.

“We’re very very excited about our renewal with Warner Brothers Discovery and Fox Sports Mexico. We’re very very excited about that. I’m personally excited that my long-time career is going to continue for at least another four to five years or so. I’m honored to be here.”

Further Details on AEW Media Rights Deal Revealed

Following the initial announcement, more details of the AEW media rights deal have emerged. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the decision not to include pay-per-views as part of the Max subscription came down to it being too much of a cost for WBD.

The rumoured Shockwave show was not announced as part of the new agreement, and Meltzer says it was something that was always going to be “shopped separately.” AEW Shockwave is rumoured to be heading to Fox, although nothing is confirmed.
