Blood and Guts wasn’t enough for some AEW stars, and now the company has announced blood is sure to be spilled in a Barbed Wire Death Match.
The saga between Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston stretches back to before Revolution when the two men met one-on-one at Revolution in March. On that occasion Kingston made Jericho tap out but The Wizard reneged on his pre-match promise to tell Kingston that he respected him if he lost.
Since then, the rivalry has hit new heights with the first AEW Champion forming The Jericho Appreciation Society and using the numbers advantage to get the better of Kingston as well as former Inner Circle members Santana and Ortiz.
At Double Or Nothing, Kingston’s crew teamed up with the Blackpool Combat Club to face The JAS in the first-ever Anarchy In The Arena match. Jericho and Jake Hager claimed the win for their team as their combined efforts made Bryan Danielson tap out.
Eddie Kingston remained out for blood and hoped to get his revenge on Jericho inside Blood and Guts but things didn’t quite go as planned. Kingston’s team win but he failed to make Jericho bleed or submit as AEW newcomer Claudio Castagnoli – not a man on Kingston’s Christmas card list – made Matt Menard tap out for the victory.
On AEW Rampage on the 8th of July, Eddie Kingston responded to Jericho’s group’s assault on his friend Ruby Soho and says every drop of blood Jericho bleeds will be in honour of Soho.
“Every drop of blood is a sin you committed, Chris.” After #JerichoAppreciationSociety’s assault last week against #EddieKingston’s friend @realrubysoho, @MadKing1981 vows to make @IAmJericho bleed for his transgressions.

AEW then confirmed that the two men will meet on Night 2 of Fyter Fest on the 20th of July in a Barbed Wire Death Match. To prevent any JAS involvement, the group will be suspended in a shark cage above the ring as the carnage unfolds.
