AEW has today confirmed that the upcoming AEW 2.Show will no longer take place on December 29, and will instead take place on January 6th.
The news comes after New Year’s Smash was also postponed in favour of a Brodie Lee tribute show.
AEW Games tweeted out, “With careful consideration, we have made the decision to push the 2.Show to next Wednesday, January 6th following AEW Dynamite. #AEWGames” before referee Aubrey Edwards, who is heavily involved in the development of the games, would say “Wednesday is for Brodie” and that “game stuff can wait” in response.

AEW World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega had previously been announced as the host of the upcoming AEW 2.Show.
The programme, which follows in the footsteps of the company’s 1.0 show which announced the long awaited AEW console and mobile games, will air immediately after New Year’s Smash Night 1 on the AEW Games YouTube channel.
While there are no details of what the 2.Show will contain or be about, it has been widely rumoured that Omega will provide an update on the incoming game as well as definitive release dates for AEW Elite General Manager and AEW Casino: Double or Nothing for android and iPhone.
‘The Cleaner’ has been heavily involved in the creation of AEW’s console game after listening to what the fans want and attempting to make it a reality. The superstar has even gone to the lengths of hiring Yukes and Hideyuki Iwashita, developers and directors of the fabled WWF No Mercy, WWF SmackDown and WWF WrestleMania series in order to give the game the same flavour.
While a release date isn’t set in stone, it is almost guaranteed that the 2.Show will give us an updated glimpse of the game which received mixed reviews upon its unveiling.
Kenny Omega will defend the AEW World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Fenix at AEW New Year’s Smash.
